Come on, Roubaix youth!
Exhibition from 17 February to 26 May 2024
For several years now, particularly thanks to the support of the Friends of the museum as well as artists and collectors, La Piscine has endeavoured to include in its collections works by living artists who have been linked to the Roubaix art scene or simply to the city at one time or another. This naturally varied exhibition takes stock of this abundance of riches associated with the neighbourhood of a museum which is highly dependent on these cooperative local viewpoints. It includes various modes of creation and expression, and naturally takes place in the identity spaces of La Piscine, its historic entrance, next to the collections of the Roubaix Group thereby adding to them like another multi-faceted avatar of the industrial city.
Included in the spring collections of the programme for the start of 2024, Come on, Roubaix youth! demonstrates how the monitoring process naturally falls short of covering all the creative news of the city and calls on people to come to the museum to present pathways that have been overlooked: everyone gets their turn!
